Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Scrolls account and what happens to your data.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Scrolls account directly from the app:

  1. Open the Scrolls app on your device.
  2. Navigate to the Profile tab (bottom-right icon).
  3. Scroll down to the account deletion option.
  4. Confirm when prompted. Your account will be marked as deleted and you will be signed out.

Deleting your account in the app does not immediately erase all your information. It removes friendships, club memberships and clubs you own, and marks your account as deleted. To request permanent erasure, email us using the details below.

What Happens to Your Data

Immediately: Friendships and club memberships are removed, and clubs you own are deleted. Your sign-in record, profile and reading data are retained. Posts in clubs owned by other people may remain.

365-day recovery window: You can recover your account and retained reading data during this period. Removed friendships and clubs are not restored.

Permanent erasure: We cannot currently guarantee automatic erasure at the end of the recovery window. Contact us to request permanent deletion of your data.

Local data: Sign-out clears local account data and attempts to remove cached book files. Preferences, other caches, downloaded voices and device backups may remain. See our privacy policy for more details.
